Iraq Context
Iraqi passports are issued by the General Directorate of Nationality under the Ministry of Interior. The current "G" series biometric passport replaced the older "S" series. Kurdistan Region residents may hold both Iraqi federal passports and Kurdistan Region identity documents. Many Iraqi asylum seekers hold expired or damaged passports.
Document Format
Iraqi passports contain the holder's name in Arabic and English, date and place of birth, passport number, and issuing authority. The "G" series biometric passport includes machine-readable text. Older "S" series passports may contain more Arabic-only text.
What You'll Need
Common Uses
